Makeup Prep Tips For Brides

Wedding season is JUST around the corner! Lots of brides are already on the ball and booking makeup services for their big day! I’m very excited for this years bridal season and all the incredible clients I will get to meet.

I thought I’d share a few of my pro-tips for prepping for your big day!

-Book a professional makeup artist 1-2 years in advance. Make sure they are certified, reputable, have good hygiene practices and suit your personality and makeup style.

-Book a trial run with your makeup artist. I recommended booking for the same day as your bridal shower or bachelorette party so you can test out the longevity of the makeup and get reactions from your girlfriends.

-Let your makeup artist know if you have any allergies, sensitivities or special requests. They will be happy to know more about you and your needs!

-Exfoliate your skin the night before your big day. Be gentle with your skin when you exfoliate, moisturize well right before bed! Polished and hydrated skin ALWAYS responds better to makeup.

-Get a facial 1-2 weeks before your wedding. If you suffer from acne scars try one of my 10% glycolic peels. Inquire via e-mail if you’d like more information about this service:

PS: Hope you enjoy these snaps from some of my favourite wedding makeup moments with some super cool clients! My all time favourite “behind the scenes” style shot was taken by Andrew Smith Photography of me doing makeup on the brides sister while she held her three day old baby who was fast asleep. Such a special moment, what a truly dedicated bridesmaid!
